There is no single explanation of success. Despite the fact that everyone has their own definition, the path to achieve it is more or less the same.
#1 Thing to do: Read, read and then read some more. Yes!!
It doesn’t matter if you want to succeed in sports, business, inner self or whatever. The path begins with understanding what others have already accomplished in that field.
A soccer player, who wants to add to his speed, should read how the best athletes train themselves to run faster. A businessman, who wants to manage employees, should read about companies managing 1000s of employees.
And, you should not stop at your first book or article. You have to read something or other on a regular basis. Your first 2-3 books won’t even make any sense to you. As you progress, with reading, you will understand how and why things work, as they do.
I know it may feel like school time, wasn’t that the best time of your life??
#2 Thing to do: Go back to School! As if the reading was not enough 😐
I don’t want you to go back to your school. You have to find groups where you can meet like minded people and enjoy the path to your success. These groups feel like the classroom where members act like students. All of them are there for the common/ similar goal.
There is no TEACHER or HOMEWORK. Interaction is the key. This becomes the community where you can ask questions, help others reach the common goals and essentially educate yourself.
These groups can be found in online forums, real events, coaching or seminars. They can help you reach your goals faster.
#3 Thing to do: Write what you want to achieve.
This is the most basic but overlooked part of success. You have to write exactly what you want to achieve in life. It should be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time Bound.
Write it out big enough for others to see. No matter how ridiculous you may look, do it.
Arnold Schwarzenegger was awarded the title of Mr. Universe at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest a total of seven times. He lost one of the early titles due to his nonexistent calves. He decided to do something about it. It is said, he tore his trousers to make sure everyone noticed his nonexistent calves. This reminded him that he needed to work on them. Rest is history.
Don’t underestimate any of them. Give it a try for 60 days and you will see the results for sure.
